Metabolic Typing continued: Paul Chek’s digestion overview

Metabolic Typing In this video; the legendary Paul Chek explains the processes that our bodies make when digesting food and why it is important to get the right food balance for our metabolic type. Digestion in a nutshell, really comes down to 3 things: Metabolism Assimilation Elimination When you bring food into the body, it runs the Krebs Cycle; the biomechanical enzyme system that converts food to energy.  This energy is released into the body to be utilised. If you bring in foods that have too much energy, or are too sweet for the body, then this can create blood sugar handling, hormonal and many other system problems that people people today.  Problems such as: Energy highs and lows Headaches Probable inflammation of the body An inability to heal properly from exercise, injury or work And many other side effects Ideally we want to choose bio-available foods that can be metabolised into energy which can be used to balance our blood sugar.   Foods that are chosen according to our racial and ethnic needs. Again we are brought back to the idea that our ancestors thrived on food that was locally available to them.  The Traditional Alaskan Eskimos enjoyed marvellous immunity and cardiovascular health on a diet of blubber and meat from whales, moose, seals and salmon.   The Swiss from isolated mountain villages enjoyed dairy rich diets centred around raw milk, cheese, cream and rye bread and they too, were a picture of health and fitness, living to ripe old ages. It’s a facinating subject and you too can find your own optimal balance of plant to animal foods, by completing a test on Metabolic Typing. Dr Mercola’s Top Tip According to Dr Mercola, once you have found whether you are a Protein, Carbohydrate or Mixed type, it is just as important to eat your food in the right...

Metabolic Typing: are foods you are eating making you ill?

If you have never heard of Metabolic Typing then get ready; it could change your life! Remember the old rhyme? “Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean, and so betwixt the two of them, they licked the platter clean.” It summarises perfectly the essence of Metabolic Typing.  It is a pretty good indicator of the types of food that you may thrive on; a guide to the foods that you need and the ones you ought to limit.  It could even be the key to healthy weight loss! It may be the answer to why some people put on weight when they eat a low fat, high carbohydrate based diet full of pasta, bread, cereal and fruit, or if you lose weight and feel better on a high fat diet full of meat olives and avocados. It doesn’t involve any blood or food sensitivity tests, it is simply a questionnaire that you can even carry out online.  I found a good one here: Metabolic Typing Test This questionnaire will ask questions such as your build, whether you need to eat often, if a meal before sleep gives you a good night’s rest and even if you wear your heart on your sleeve! As no one food is healthy for everyone, this test defines the main control systems of the body and details its strengths and weaknesses.  The end result shows you whether you are a protein type person, a carbohydrate type person, or a mix of the two.  Eating the right foods for your type may help reduce food cravings and prevent disease, cure ailments and help you achieve and maintain a...
